You can use existing coins in a supported Pionex Spot Grid by choosing the current Investment: Both mode. For BTC/USDT, Pionex says this can accept BTC alone or BTC plus USDT. If the option or balance is missing, check the selected pair, bot mode, account and funds already locked elsewhere.
The current Pionex funding choices
| Choice | What you supply | What to review |
|---|---|---|
| USDT only | The quote asset | The initial market purchase and resulting allocation |
| Investment: Both | The base coin alone, or base plus quote assets when supported | How the preview divides the capital |
| Reverse Grid | The base asset or both assets under its current rules | That its goal and result unit differ from Spot Grid |
Why your existing coin may not appear
- The selected pair does not contain that coin as its base asset.
- The coin is locked in another bot, open order or account section.
- The amount is below the current minimum for the chosen parameters.
- You selected a setup path that only accepts the quote asset.
- The product or pair is not currently available in your region or app version.
Open the wallet and bot preview instead of assuming the balance disappeared. Pionex separates available spot assets from funds controlled by running strategies and other account sections.
Pionex and BitUniverse are not the same workflow
Pionex provides exchange markets and built-in bots inside the Pionex account. Older Pionex pages described BitUniverse as a separate portfolio and trading app that connected to supported exchanges with API keys. Those comparisons are historical and do not confirm BitUniverse’s present availability or features.
How to restart without an unnecessary sale
- Confirm the coin is available in your Primary Account.
- Select a Spot Grid pair containing that coin.
- Open the customized settings and find Investment: Both.
- Enter the eligible coin amount and any quote asset you want to include.
- Read the initial allocation and fee-adjusted grid preview.
- Cancel if the setup would rebalance more of the coin than you intend.

Frequently asked questions
Can you create a Pionex Spot Grid Bot with BTC you already own?
Yes. Pionex says Investment: Both can use the base coin alone or both assets in a supported pair, subject to the current pair and minimum.
Where is the Investment: Both option on Pionex?
Open Spot Grid, select a supported pair and review the manual or customized investment settings. The exact label and position can change with the app version.
Why might your coin balance not appear for the bot?
The asset may be in another account, locked by an order or bot, below the live minimum, or not supported by that pair and investment mode.
Do you have to sell BTC to USDT before restarting a Grid Bot?
Not always. If the current BTC/USDT Spot Grid supports Investment: Both and your BTC is available, you can review a BTC-only or BTC-plus-USDT setup.
Is Pionex the same type of product as BitUniverse?
No. Pionex is an exchange with built-in bots. Older Pionex pages described BitUniverse as a separate app that connected to supported exchanges through APIs.
Will the bot keep your existing coin allocation unchanged?
Not necessarily. A grid needs buy and sell capacity, so the creation preview may rebalance part of the supplied assets.
What should you check before confirming the bot?
Check the pair, available balance, investment mode, initial base and quote allocation, range, grids, fees, live minimum and downside exposure.
