Pionex does not have one reliable public maximum that applies to every bot type and pair. The old answer claiming about 9,000 bots is unsupported by current guidance. Limits can depend on the product, actual investment and selected trading pair.
Why there is no universal number
Pionex offers Spot, Futures and other automation products with different order and risk rules. A platform-wide number would ignore per-pair capacity, product limits, minimum investment and account eligibility. The live creation screen and the current support guide for that bot are the final checks.
Current Futures Grid example
Pionex’s current Futures Grid guide describes bot-count restrictions based on actual investment:
| Futures Grid count | Published actual-investment rule |
|---|---|
| Up to 20 bots | No additional investment threshold stated for this tier |
| 20 to 50 bots | Actual investment must exceed 50 USDT |
| More than 50 bots | Actual investment must exceed 200 USDT |
The same guide also lists pair-specific limits: major BTC and ETH perpetual pairs receive different treatment, several named pairs allow up to 20 bots, and other pairings can be limited to five per pair. These rules can change and should not be generalized to Spot bots.
Bots and grids are different counts
One Grid Bot can contain many grid levels. The number of grids controls the price intervals inside that bot; it is not the number of running bots on the account. Pionex currently describes a maximum of 500 grids for Futures Grid, while other products can use different rules.
A practical capacity checklist
- Identify the exact bot product.
- Check the per-pair and total limits in the current guide.
- Confirm the live minimum and available balance for every strategy.
- Avoid duplicating the same pair and direction without a distinct reason.
- Track total exposure, liquidation risk and correlated positions across all bots.
See Pionex’s current Futures Grid guide. For the separate limit inside one strategy, read how many grid levels you can set.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum number of bots on Pionex?
There is no reliable single site-wide number in the current public guidance. Limits can depend on the bot product, pair and investment.
Is the old 9,000-bot limit still valid?
It is not supported by current Pionex documentation and should not be used for planning.
How many Futures Grid Bots can I run?
Pionex publishes tiered rules based on actual investment and separate per-pair limits, so check the current Futures Grid guide and creation screen.
Do BTC and ETH Futures Grid pairs have the same limits as other pairs?
No. Pionex’s current guide lists different treatment for major pairs and limits for other supported pairs.
Is the number of bots the same as the number of grids?
No. A bot is one running strategy, while grids are the price intervals and orders configured inside that strategy.
Can a larger investment allow more Futures Grid Bots?
Current Pionex guidance uses actual-investment thresholds for some Futures Grid bot-count tiers, alongside pair-specific limits.
Should I run as many bots as the account allows?
Not automatically. More bots require more capital, monitoring and risk control and can create overlapping exposure.
This article is informational. Bot and pair limits can change, and running more strategies increases monitoring and capital risk.
