How Many Grids Can You Set on Pionex? Spot and Futures Limits

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Pionex does not have one permanent maximum grid count for every bot. The limit depends on the product, trading pair and current order screen. Pionex’s current Futures Grid guide states that Futures Grid supports 2 to 500 grids. For Spot Grid, use the maximum shown in the live creation panel rather than relying on an old blog answer.

Why the old answer is outdated

This page previously said 200 grids for Grid Bot and 500 for Moon Bot. That does not describe the current product lineup reliably. Pionex later announced up to 1,000 grids for eligible Bitcoin grid trading during a 2022 program, while its current Futures Grid documentation states a 500-grid maximum. These figures should not be combined into one universal rule.

What changes when you add more grids?

Setting Typical effect Trade-off
More grids Smaller spacing and more possible fills Smaller profit per completed grid and higher capital requirements
Fewer grids Wider spacing and larger gross profit per grid Fewer opportunities for price to complete a pair
Wider price range Covers more market movement Spreads capital across more levels
Narrower price range Concentrates orders Price can leave the range sooner

Use the order panel as the source of truth

Select the exact bot and pair, enter the range and investment, then review the grid slider, minimum investment and estimated profit per grid. Pair-level order minimums and product updates can change what the interface permits.

Checklist before using the maximum

  • Is the range based on a defensible market view?
  • Does each order meet the pair’s minimum size?
  • Is estimated profit per grid still meaningful after fees?
  • Can you accept the price moving outside the range?
  • If it is a futures bot, can you accept leverage, funding and liquidation risk?

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum number of grids on Pionex?

The limit depends on the bot and current product screen. Pionex’s current Futures Grid guide states a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 500 grids. Check the live Spot Grid order panel for its applicable limit.

Is the old 200-grid answer still current?

It should not be treated as a universal current limit. Pionex products have changed, and a 2022 promotion also raised some eligible Bitcoin grids to 1,000.

Does more grids always mean more profit?

No. More grids create smaller price gaps and more potential orders, but each order becomes smaller and every completed trade must still overcome fees.

Why does Pionex require more investment for more grids?

Each grid order must meet the trading pair’s minimum order size. A wider range or higher grid count can therefore increase the minimum capital needed.

What happens if I choose too few grids?

The price gap and profit per completed grid can be larger, but trades may occur less frequently. The result depends on how price moves through the range.

Can I change the grid count after starting a bot?

For common fixed Grid Bot setups, core parameters such as the range and grid count are set when the bot starts. Check the live bot controls before assuming they can be edited.

Should I use the maximum grid count?

Not automatically. Choose a count that produces a sensible per-grid return after fees, meets order minimums and fits the expected range and volatility.
