What Happens to BTC When You Close a Pionex Grid Bot?

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Closing a BTC/USDT Spot Grid Bot does not always mean you receive only USDT. A manual close can return the remaining BTC and USDT separately or convert the BTC to USDT, depending on the option shown and selected on the current confirmation screen.

A Grid Bot normally holds both sides of the pair

A BTC/USDT Spot Grid Bot uses part of its balance for BTC and part for USDT while it places orders across the range. The proportions change as orders fill. This means the bot can hold leftover BTC, leftover USDT and realized Grid Profit when you decide to stop it.

Two possible closing outcomes

Closing choice Typical result
Keep the assets Remaining BTC and USDT are released separately after open orders are canceled
Sell or convert all Remaining BTC is submitted for market conversion to USDT before settlement

The names and availability of these choices can change by app version, bot type and closing method. Treat the live confirmation preview as authoritative. If no choice is offered, do not assume the behavior from an old screenshot.

Manual close and automatic close can differ

Pionex’s current Spot Grid guide says the bot automatically closes and sells all positions locked by the strategy when its configured take-profit or stop-loss price is reached. A manual close can present a separate asset-treatment choice. Check both the advanced setting and the final close confirmation.

What happens during settlement

  1. Open grid orders are canceled.
  2. Reserved base and quote balances are released.
  3. If conversion is selected, the remaining base asset is sold at market.
  4. The final BTC, USDT, realized Grid Profit and applicable costs are reflected after settlement.

A market conversion does not guarantee the estimate shown before confirmation. Fast movement, spread, liquidity and fees can change the final amount.

Checklist before closing

  • Confirm that the bot is Spot Grid, not Futures Grid or Reverse Grid.
  • Read the BTC and USDT quantities shown in the close preview.
  • Choose whether you still want BTC exposure.
  • Check Grid Profit, unrealized P&L and Total Profit separately.
  • Review any market-conversion estimate and fee.

Frequently asked questions

Do I receive BTC when I close a BTC/USDT Grid Bot?

You can receive remaining BTC and USDT separately when the close confirmation allows you to keep the base asset and you do not select a full conversion.

Can Pionex convert all remaining BTC to USDT when I close?

Yes, when you select the sell-all or conversion option shown in the confirmation, Pionex attempts to sell the remaining BTC at market.

What happens to unfilled grid orders?

They are canceled as part of closing the bot, so the funds reserved for those orders are released.

What happens to Grid Profit after closing?

Realized Grid Profit and the other bot-controlled balances are released to the relevant account after final settlement.

Can the final USDT amount change during conversion?

Yes. A market conversion can be affected by the live price, spread, liquidity and fees.

Does automatic take profit keep my BTC?

Pionex’s current Spot Grid guide says its automatic take-profit close sells all positions locked by the strategy, so review that setting separately from a manual close.

What should I check before confirming the close?

Review the displayed BTC and USDT balances, conversion choice, estimated proceeds, fees and whether you still want exposure to BTC.
