Can You Change a Running Pionex Bot’s Parameters?

Last updated: August 25, 2026

You do not always need to restart a Pionex bot. Current Spot Grid tools support changing the grid range and adding investment while the bot runs, but editable settings differ by bot type. You also cannot directly move a live position from one bot into another as if the bots shared one balance.

The answer depends on the bot type

Bot or action Current documented behavior
Spot Grid Pionex’s official AI Kit exposes tools to adjust the grid range and add quote-currency investment to a running bot.
Reverse Grid Its current Help Center guide says the price range, grid count and investment are fixed after creation; only take-profit and stop-loss prices can be adjusted.
Margin Grid Its guide says range and leverage cannot be changed after start, while take profit, stop loss and margin controls remain available.
Futures Grid Some investment, margin and range controls exist, but leverage and liquidation risk make each change product-specific.

Open the running bot and inspect the controls shown for that exact product. The current app or web confirmation screen is the final source because pair, region, mode and product updates can affect availability.

What happens when you adjust a Spot Grid range?

A range change is not merely cosmetic. It can cancel and replace grid orders, alter the spacing and require additional investment. Review the preview, current holdings, open orders and any estimated cost before confirming. Changing a range cannot remove an existing unrealized loss or guarantee future grid profit.

Can you add investment to a running Spot Grid Bot?

Yes, when the live bot exposes the supported investment control and the amount meets current requirements. Added funds become part of that bot’s strategy; they are not a risk-free reserve. Check the minimum, how orders will be redistributed and whether the change buys assets at the current market price.

Can you transfer balance directly between two bots?

There is no general direct “bot A to bot B” transfer. Each running bot controls its own orders and assets. To reallocate funds, you may need to reduce or close one bot, release supported funds to the available balance and then invest in another. That process can cancel orders, trade assets, realize profit or loss and create fees.

Before changing or moving capital

  • Confirm the exact bot type and pair.
  • Read the adjustment preview and balance-change details.
  • Check whether assets will be bought, sold or only added as margin.
  • Record open orders, unrealized profit or loss and liquidation risk where relevant.
  • Do not increase risk solely to rescue an unprofitable setup.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change a running Pionex Spot Grid Bot’s range?

Current official Spot Grid tools support range adjustment, subject to the controls and validation shown for your bot.

Can I change the number of grids while it runs?

Support can vary by interface and product. Use the current adjustment screen and review any order replacement or investment requirement.

Can I add money to a running Spot Grid Bot?

Yes, when the bot provides the investment control and the amount passes the current validation rules.

Can every Pionex bot change its core parameters?

No. Reverse Grid and Margin Grid documentation, for example, keeps several core settings fixed after creation.

Can I transfer funds directly from one running bot to another?

No general direct transfer exists. Funds normally have to become available outside the first bot before they can fund another.

Will moving funds between bots sell my coins?

It can. Reducing or closing a bot may cancel orders or trade assets depending on the product and choice shown.

Should I restart a bot instead of editing it?

Compare the adjustment preview with the cost and consequences of closure. Neither choice guarantees a better result.
