Why Does Grid Bot Profit Seem to Reduce Your Capital?

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Pionex does not simply deduct Grid Profit from your original capital while the bot runs. The changing display reflects current holdings, unrealized PnL, completed Grid Profit, fees, open orders and funds reserved for the strategy.

Five numbers can move differently

Number Meaning
Investment Capital allocated when the bot was created
Grid Profit Result from completed grid cycles
Unrealized PnL Changing result on the asset still held
Total Profit Grid Profit plus unrealized result
Releasable Profit Amount currently eligible to leave without closing

Why the displayed capital changes

A Grid Bot holds both sides of a pair in changing proportions. When the base asset rises, the currency value of the held amount can rise. When it falls, unrealized PnL can decline. Orders also move funds between available, reserved and held states.

Why Grid Profit and releasable profit differ

Completed Grid Profit can still be needed for order and fee requirements. Pionex also documents that profit moved into automatic reinvestment cannot be released through the normal control until the bot closes. Use the live Releasable Profit amount.

How to audit the screen

  1. Take one timestamped screenshot.
  2. Record investment and current holdings.
  3. Record Grid Profit, unrealized PnL and Total Profit.
  4. Open the fee and completed-order records.
  5. Check open orders and reserve funds.
  6. Compare the same metrics later rather than mixing timestamps.

Use the current Grid Bot guide and auto-reinvestment FAQ.

Frequently asked questions

Is Grid Profit deducted from the bot’s starting capital?

Not simply. The display separates investment, current holdings, completed Grid Profit, unrealized PnL, fees and funds reserved to maintain orders.

Why does the capital value rise when the coin price rises?

The bot holds part of the base asset. Its current currency value rises and falls with market price, which changes unrealized PnL and Total Profit.

Why is releasable profit lower than Grid Profit?

Some funds can be needed for fees, open orders or reserve requirements. Automatic reinvestment can also make accumulated profit unavailable for release.

Does positive Grid Profit mean the whole bot is profitable?

No. Total Profit includes the changing value of held assets. A sufficiently large unrealized loss can exceed positive Grid Profit.

Do trading fees come only from profit?

Do not assume that. Fees are charged according to executed orders and product rules. Review the live fee records and net metrics rather than a simplified source label.

Does releasing profit reduce the original investment?

Pionex documents Release Profit as acting on eligible profit and unused reserve funds without changing initial investment or grid orders, subject to the live releasable amount.

What should you record when the display looks wrong?

Record investment, held assets, Grid Profit, unrealized PnL, Total Profit, releasable amount, open orders, fees and the same timestamp before contacting Support.

Grid Profit alone does not show the strategy’s full result. Always check Total Profit and current holdings.
