For ETH/USDT, a Standard Grid measures its profit in the quote asset, USDT, while Reverse Grid measures performance in the base token, ETH. The displayed unit, the assets held inside the bot and the asset released to your wallet are related but not identical.
Base and quote currency
| ETH/USDT example | Role |
|---|---|
| ETH | Base currency on the left of the pair |
| USDT | Quote currency on the right of the pair |
| Standard Grid | Measures revenue in quote currency |
| Reverse Grid | Measures revenue in base currency |
What Reverse Grid actually displays
Pionex explains that Reverse Grid still performs buy-low and sell-high arbitrage in the pair. Its quote-currency result is converted into a base-token equivalent for display. If the token price rises, the same USDT value can represent fewer tokens, so the displayed token profit can decrease.
Released profit can use a different asset
The current Pionex Reverse Grid FAQ says released profit for ETH/USDT is USDT, even though the bot’s performance is measured in ETH. Always review the live release and close preview because the bot’s remaining holdings and closing option also matter.
Choose from the objective, not the label
- Identify the base and quote assets.
- Decide which holding you want the bot to emphasize.
- Review range, grid count and minimum investment.
- Check the release and closing assets.
- Measure Total Profit and holdings, not one displayed percentage.

Frequently asked questions
Does a Standard Grid Bot earn profit in USDT?
For a pair such as ETH/USDT, Pionex measures a Standard Grid’s revenue in the quote currency, USDT, while the bot also holds and trades ETH.
Does a Reverse Grid Bot earn more of the traded token?
Pionex measures Reverse Grid performance in the base currency and designs it around increasing token holdings or reducing their cost through grid activity.
What are base and quote currencies?
In ETH/USDT, ETH is the base currency on the left and USDT is the quote currency on the right.
Does Reverse Grid arbitrage literally execute every profit in ETH?
No. Pionex says the underlying arbitrage earns quote currency and converts its displayed value into the base currency for Reverse Grid measurement.
Why can displayed Reverse Grid profit decrease?
Because its quote-currency profit is displayed as an equivalent amount of the base token, a rise in that token’s price can reduce the displayed token quantity.
What asset is released from a Reverse Grid?
Pionex’s current Reverse Grid FAQ says released profit is quote currency such as USDT, even though the bot measures revenue in the base token.
Which bot should you use if you want more tokens?
Reverse Grid is designed around token accumulation, but suitability depends on your market view, range and risk. It does not guarantee more valuable holdings or profit.
Both strategies remain exposed to crypto prices, fees, range selection and execution risk.
