Bitget Card charges 0.9% transaction fee plus 1% FX fee: 1.9% total on most purchases and pays cashback in BGB token. Pionex Card charges 1% FX offset by 1% USDT cashback, netting to zero. Here is the full comparison.
Note before we start: Bitget runs two separate card products – the Bitget Card linked to the exchange account (APAC focus, Visa) and the Bitget Wallet Card (non-custodial, Mastercard, broader regions). This comparison covers the Bitget Card exchange product, which is the direct competitor in APAC markets where Pionex Card is strongest.

The Fee Problem with Bitget Card
The Bitget Card charges two fees on most purchases:
- A 0.9% transaction fee on every purchase
- A 1% FX fee on non-USD transactions
Together, that is 1.9% on international purchases. On USD purchases, the 0.9% transaction fee still applies.
At $1,000/month in international spending:
- Bitget Card: $19 in fees before any cashback
- Pionex Card: $10 FX fee, offset entirely by $10 cashback. Net zero.
Even at Bitget’s welcome cashback rate of 20%, which applies only for the first month after activation and only to eligible purchases, the $19 in fees on $1,000 of spend would require $95 in actual cashback to break even – meaning the 20% rate would need to apply to roughly $475 of eligible spend just to cover the monthly fee load.
Bitget’s regular APAC cashback program currently pays 2% with a $5 monthly cap for non-VIP users. VIP-linked tiers list 4%, 6%, and 12% rates with caps of $100, $350, and $800. Cashback is credited in BGB, and an overall monthly reward pool can also limit payouts.
The BGB Cashback Problem

Pionex Card cashback is paid in USDT. It lands in your card account. You can spend it, transfer it back to your main account, or let it sit and earn the 5% APR. No conversion needed.
Bitget Card cashback is paid in BGB, Bitget’s native exchange token. To use that cashback as spendable value, you need to either spend it within the Bitget ecosystem or convert it to USDT or another asset. BGB has its own price volatility. The value of your cashback fluctuates with the BGB price independently of your actual purchasing activity.
For users who actively use BGB or believe in its value as an asset, this is not necessarily a problem. For users who want straightforward cashback they can spend without a conversion step, USDT cashback is simpler and more predictable.
Where Bitget Card Does Better
There are specific scenarios where Bitget Card has an advantage.
WeChat Pay and Alipay (Bitget Wallet Card only): The Bitget Wallet Card variant is the only crypto card that supports WeChat Pay and Alipay natively. For users in markets where these payment platforms dominate in-store transactions, that is a meaningful edge. Note: this applies to the Wallet Card, not the exchange card compared in this article.
Welcome cashback promotions: New cardholders may see a separate welcome offer, but its eligibility, cap, and reward pool are promotion-specific. Do not treat the welcome rate as the ongoing card rate.
Broader crypto asset support: Bitget Card accepts both USDT and USDC. Pionex Card accepts USDT only.
Country Availability in the Markets That Matter
Pionex currently lists Singapore and the United Kingdom as unsupported for phone registration and KYC. For Malaysia and Taiwan, absence from that KYC restriction list only means registration and identity verification may be available; it does not guarantee Pionex Card issuance. Check Wallet, then Card in the Pionex app for the final eligibility result.
Bitget Card is not available in Algeria, Russia, or India. For users in those markets, Bitget Card is not an option.
Pionex Card should not be treated as available in every country omitted from the KYC restriction list. It cannot be used with merchants registered or operating in Russia, and users elsewhere must confirm Card eligibility in the Pionex app. Check the current Pionex registration and KYC restriction list, then read Where Does Pionex Card Work?.
The 5% APR Difference
Pionex Card pays 5% APR on USDT held in the card account. No lock-up, no minimum beyond the 100 USDT eligibility threshold.
Bitget Card does not publish an equivalent APR product tied to the card account balance. Bitget has earn products elsewhere on the platform, but there is no equivalent of Pionex’s card-balance interest running automatically on your spending float.
For a user maintaining a $2,000 buffer in their card account:
- Pionex: $100/year in APR, plus 1% cashback on spending
- Bitget: $0 APR on card balance, minus net fees on most spend
Real Annual Cost Comparison
Assuming $1,000/month in non-USD international spending, $2,000 card balance buffer:
Pionex Card:
- FX fees paid: $120/year
- Cashback earned: $120/year
- APR on $2,000 buffer: $100/year
- Net annual return: $100
Bitget Card (current non-VIP base tier):
- Transaction fees: $108/year (0.9%)
- FX fees: $120/year (1%)
- BGB cashback at 2% is capped at $5 per month, or up to $60 across 12 full months if each monthly cap is reached
- APR on card balance: $0
- Net annual cost: -$168 (before BGB conversion value)
At the non-VIP tier, Bitget’s $5 monthly cap is the main constraint for regular spending. Higher Bitget tiers can change the result, so compare the live rate, cap, fees, and BGB value before choosing.
Who Each Card Is For
Choose Pionex Card if:
- The Pionex app confirms that your account is eligible for the Card
- You spend more than $500/month internationally and want net-zero FX cost
- You want cashback in USDT, not an exchange token
- You want 5% APR on your card balance without any earn product setup
- You are already on Pionex for trading
Choose Bitget Card if:
- You are a heavy Bitget exchange user who naturally holds BGB and wants to consolidate to one platform
- You are in the first month of card use and plan to maximise the welcome cashback with significant spend
- You hold USDC as well as USDT and want the option to spend both
- Bitget confirms that your account is eligible and its ecosystem is already your primary trading home

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Bitget Card charge a transaction fee?
Yes. The Bitget Card (APAC exchange product) charges a 0.9% transaction fee on every purchase, plus a 1% FX fee on non-USD transactions. Total on international purchases: 1.9%.
Is Bitget Card cashback paid in USDT?
No. Bitget Card cashback is paid in BGB, Bitget’s native exchange token. Pionex Card cashback is paid directly in USDT.
Which card is available in more countries?
Do not choose based on a broad country-count claim. Pionex currently lists Singapore and the United Kingdom as unsupported for phone registration and KYC, and Pionex Card cannot be used with merchants registered or operating in Russia. In other countries, KYC availability does not guarantee Card approval. Check the current Pionex restriction list and confirm eligibility in each provider’s app before applying.
Is there a free Bitget Card option?
The virtual Bitget Card has no issuance fee. Physical cards are free for VIP users; otherwise fees apply depending on tier (Premium reissuance: $59, Black: $199). Pionex virtual card is free for eligible users, and users can contact Pionex Pay directly to request a free physical card.
Does Bitget Card earn interest on the balance?
There is no published APR on the Bitget Card account balance itself. Bitget has separate earn products. Pionex Card pays 5% APR directly on USDT in the card account.
