Where Does Pionex Card Work? Countries, Wallets, & Daily Use Explained

Pionex Card works in more than 100 countries, across Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, and anywhere Visa is accepted online or offline. Here is how it actually works day to day, and where it does not.

You have USDT sitting in your Pionex account. You want to spend it, not just trade it. The question most people ask next is simple: does this card actually work where I live?

The short answer is yes, for most of the world. The longer answer depends on your country, how you plan to spend, and whether you need a physical card or a virtual one. This article covers all of that clearly.

If you want the full breakdown of fees, cashback, and how Pionex Card compares to competitors, start with the main review: Pionex Card: The Crypto Card That Actually Pays You Back.

How the Card Works Physically

Pionex Card is currently a virtual Visa card. There is no plastic in the mail. What you get is a card number, expiration date, and CVV, issued immediately after your application is approved.

That virtual card does a lot more than people expect:

  • You can enter the card details for any online purchase that accepts Visa
  • You can add it to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, Alipay HK, WeChat Pay, Line Pay, or PayPal for contactless in-store payments
  • Anywhere those wallets are accepted at a checkout terminal, your Pionex Card works

A physical card is in development. As of June 2026, it is available by invitation only and ships free of charge. When it launches more broadly, Pionex will announce it through official channels.

Supported Countries

Pionex Card is available in more than 100 countries. The regions with the strongest current user bases include:

Southeast Asia
Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines. This is Pionex’s home market. Merchants here broadly accept Visa, and the mobile wallets Pionex Card supports, including Alipay and Google Pay, are widely used in daily transactions.

Europe
Germany, Belarus, Netherlands, Spain, Poland, United Kingdom. The Visa card’s structure, where the 1% FX fee is effectively cancelled out by the 1% cashback, makes it particularly useful for users who travel across European currencies or make cross-border purchases regularly.

Russia
Russia is currently the top country by Generative AI impressions for Pionex Card content, meaning more people in Russia are asking AI tools about this card than anywhere else. The card is available to eligible users in Russia. Visa acceptance in Russia has faced broader limitations due to international payment network restrictions since 2022, so users should verify merchant acceptance for specific use cases.

Algeria
Algeria ranks second in AI search impressions for Pionex Card. Crypto adoption across North Africa has grown significantly, and Pionex Card gives Algerian users a practical way to spend USDT globally, particularly for online purchases and international merchants that accept Visa.

India
India is among the supported markets. Indian users can apply with Level 2 KYC complete and a minimum of 100 USDT in their Pionex account.

Taiwan
Taiwan is supported and the Pionex Card integrates with Line Pay, which is widely used there.

Middle East
Select countries are supported across the Middle East. Users should check the current supported countries list for their specific location.

Where Pionex Card Cannot Be Used

The Pionex Card is not available in:

  • United States
  • China and Hong Kong
  • France, Austria, Japan
  • Sanctioned regions: Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Venezuela, Yemen, Afghanistan, DR Congo, Zimbabwe

For the complete and current list, see the Pionex Unsupported Countries and Regions page.

Even within supported countries, individual merchants can decline crypto-based payment methods based on their own risk policies. If your Pionex Card is declined at a specific store, check your Recent Transactions in the app. No transaction record means the merchant rejected the card before any charge was attempted.

What You Can Pay For With Pionex Card

Online Shopping
Any merchant that accepts Visa online will process a Pionex Card payment. E-commerce sites, subscriptions, SaaS tools, booking platforms, and international retailers all fall under this category. You enter your card number, expiry, and CVV at checkout, the same as any other card.

In-Store Payments
Without a physical card, in-store payment runs through your linked mobile wallet. The setup process for each wallet is covered in the Digital Wallet Setup Instructions.

Here is how payment works at a store:

  1. Open Apple Pay or Google Pay on your phone
  2. Hold the phone near the contactless terminal
  3. The payment clears through the linked Pionex Visa Card

If the store does not have a contactless terminal, you can use Alipay or WeChat Pay’s scan-to-pay feature where merchants support it.

ATM Withdrawals
ATM withdrawals require a physical card. The virtual card does not support this. When the physical card launches, ATM withdrawals will carry a 2% fee, and the cashback programme does not apply to ATM transactions.

Spending Limits

The default limits on the Pionex Visa Card are:

Frequency Limit
Per transaction 10,000 USDT
Daily 10,000 USDT
Monthly 50,000 USDT
ATM daily, physical card 3,000 USDT
ATM monthly, physical card 7,000 USDT

If you need higher limits, contact Pionex Support and they can review your account for an increase. ATM limits currently cannot be adjusted.

The Currency Situation Explained Simply

Pionex Card holds USDT. When you spend in a currency other than USD:

  • The Visa network converts the merchant’s currency to USD at the current exchange rate
  • A 1% FX fee applies on the Pionex side
  • You earn 1% cashback on the transaction

The result: the FX fee and cashback cancel each other out on eligible purchases. You pay the merchant amount in USDT, converted at the prevailing Visa rate, with no net fee on the exchange side for most transactions.

USD purchases have no FX fee at all. USD and USDT are treated at a fixed 1:1 rate.

One thing to plan for: at checkout, Pionex reserves your transaction amount plus the applicable fee upfront. If your card balance is 100 USDT and you try to spend 99 USD in a non-USD currency, the reserve calculation may be 99 x 1.01 = 99.99 USDT plus any small transaction fees. Keep a 3 to 5 percent buffer in your card account to avoid unexpected declines.

How to Set Up Your Pionex Card for Daily Use

Step 1: Apply
Open the Pionex app, go to Wallet, then select Card. Tap Apply Now. You need KYC Level 2 complete and at least 100 USDT in your account. The application takes a few minutes and the virtual card is issued immediately.

Step 2: Fund your card account
Your Pionex Card account is separate from your main trading account. Transfer USDT from your primary account to the card account before spending. You can also enable Auto Transfer to top up the card automatically whenever the balance drops below a threshold you set.

Step 3: Add to a mobile wallet
Go to Card Details in the app, verify your identity, and copy the card number, expiry, and CVV. Add the card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, or any other supported wallet. Step-by-step instructions for each wallet are in the Digital Wallet Setup Guide.

Step 4: Spend
Use the card number for online purchases or tap your phone at any contactless terminal for in-store payments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Pionex Card in Russia?
Yes, Pionex Card is available to eligible users in Russia. International Visa network restrictions since 2022 affect which merchants and terminals will process the card. Online purchases with international merchants who maintain Visa acceptance will generally work. Physical terminal acceptance depends on individual merchant and bank infrastructure.

Can I use Pionex Card in Algeria?
Yes. Pionex Card is available in Algeria. It works for online purchases at international Visa-accepting merchants and for in-store payments through linked mobile wallets wherever those wallets are accepted locally.

Does Pionex Card work in Malaysia and Singapore?
Yes, both countries are well-supported. Visa acceptance is strong across both markets, and Alipay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay are widely available for in-store contactless use.

What if my card is declined at a merchant?
Check Recent Transactions in the app under More, then Card. If no transaction record appears, the merchant blocked the card before any charge. The card balance was not affected. Try a different payment method or contact the merchant to understand their policy on crypto-based Visa cards.

Can I freeze my card if something goes wrong?
Yes. Go to More in the Card section and select Freeze. You can freeze and unfreeze the card at any time. Note that freezing does not stop recurring merchant charges that are already set up. Cancel those subscriptions directly with the merchant.

Is my card information safe?
Your full card number, expiry, and CVV are only revealed after security verification in the app. Pionex uses in-app authorisation or SMS verification to confirm payments at merchants that require it. Keep your card details private and use the freeze function immediately if you suspect misuse.

In Conclusion

Pionex Card is a virtual Visa card that works for online purchases globally and for in-store payments through Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, and similar wallets. It is available in over 100 countries, including Russia, Algeria, Malaysia, Singapore, Belarus, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Spain.

You fund it with USDT from your Pionex account. The 1% cashback on eligible purchases offsets the 1% FX fee on non-USD transactions, making international spending effectively cost-neutral on that front. The card also earns 5% APR on your balance, which is unusual for any crypto card at any tier.

The main limitation right now is that a physical card is not yet publicly available, which means ATM withdrawals are not accessible for most users. For everyday digital and in-store spending through mobile wallets, the virtual card handles it.
