Yes. A Pionex Spot Grid normally pauses when price moves above its upper limit and resumes normal grid operation after price returns inside the range. Orders then execute as price crosses individual grid levels, not all at once.
What happens outside the range
| Price position | Typical Spot Grid state |
|---|---|
| Above upper limit | Mostly quote currency after sell grids; normal execution pauses |
| Inside range | Buy and sell grids can execute as levels are crossed |
| Below lower limit | Mostly or fully base asset; normal execution pauses |
How re-entry works
When price falls back from above the upper limit, buy orders become relevant as their levels are crossed. The bot rebuilds its base-asset position step by step. It does not necessarily buy the entire position at the boundary.
Wait, trail or close?
- Restate the original range thesis.
- Check the current asset mix and Total Profit.
- Review whether Trailing Up is active or available.
- Measure opportunity cost and maximum acceptable loss.
- Read the closing preview before stopping.

Frequently asked questions
Does a Pionex Grid Bot resume after price returns to range?
Yes. Pionex states that a Spot Grid temporarily stops outside its range and resumes normal operation after price returns inside it.
What happens above the upper limit?
The bot can have sold its allocated base coin and hold mostly quote currency. It has no higher sell grid to execute until price returns.
Does every buy order execute immediately when price re-enters?
No. Orders trigger as price crosses their individual levels. Re-entry restores the grid structure rather than filling every order at once.
What happens below the lower limit?
The bot can become fully invested in the base asset and pause until price returns to the configured range.
Should you always close a bot outside its range?
No universal rule applies. Compare your thesis, time horizon, asset exposure, Total Profit, opportunity cost and risk limit.
Can Trailing Up change the range behavior?
Yes. If the current bot supports and uses Trailing Up, its range can move upward according to the feature’s live rules.
What should you record before waiting or closing?
Record the range, current price, holdings, Grid Profit, unrealized PnL, Total Profit, pending orders, feature settings and closing preview.
Returning to range permits operation to resume but does not guarantee profit.
