Pionex Infinity Grid can continue operating as price rises because it has no fixed upper limit and is designed to maintain a target value of the base asset. It sells small amounts into higher grid levels while keeping some asset exposure, but this does not mean every upward move guarantees profit.
What the bot does during a steady rise
- Price reaches the next grid interval.
- The bot sells part of the base asset.
- Quote currency from the sale accumulates.
- The algorithm retains base-asset value for higher grid levels.
- New levels can continue upward because there is no upper boundary.
Infinity Grid versus a standard Grid Bot
| Feature | Standard Grid | Infinity Grid |
|---|---|---|
| Upper limit | Required | None |
| Above the ceiling | Can sell out and pause | Can continue creating upward levels |
| Main setting | Range and grid count | Lower limit and profit per grid |
| Rising-market trade-off | May miss upside above range | Keeps exposure but sells coins along the way |
Why it can underperform holding
If price rises without meaningful pullbacks, completed grid cycles may be limited and the bot will have sold some coins. The strategy can therefore finish with more quote currency but less upside than an untouched spot holding. Fees and opportunity cost also matter.
Risks below the lower limit
No upper limit does not remove downside. Below the lower limit, normal grid activity can pause while the bot holds an asset that is losing value. Use an asset thesis, an exit plan and a position size that can tolerate that risk.

Frequently asked questions
What happens when price keeps rising in a Pionex Infinity Grid?
The bot sells small amounts of the base asset at its configured intervals while maintaining a target value of that asset, so it does not sell out at a fixed upper boundary.
Does Infinity Grid have an upper price limit?
No. It has a lower limit and a profit-per-grid setting, allowing new grid levels to extend upward as price rises.
Does the bot keep the same number of coins?
No. During a rise it sells some coins, so the coin quantity can fall even while the target value of the remaining base-asset position is maintained.
Does every upward move create profit?
No. A grid result requires completed orders and must be assessed after fees. A straight move can also leave fewer coins than simply holding.
How is Infinity Grid different from a standard Grid Bot?
A standard Grid Bot uses an upper and lower boundary and can sell out above the upper limit. Infinity Grid removes that upper boundary but still has a lower limit.
What happens below the lower limit?
Normal grid execution can pause below the configured lower limit while the strategy remains exposed to the asset’s price decline.
What should I compare before choosing Infinity Grid?
Compare the lower limit, profit per grid, minimum investment, fees, asset quality, downside risk and likely result versus simply holding the asset.
Historical grid behavior does not predict future returns. Compare the strategy with holding, selling and doing nothing.
