You can create a Pionex Spot Grid Bot with coins you already own by using the current “Investment: Both” option for a supported pair. For BTC/USDT, Pionex says this mode can accept existing BTC alone or BTC plus USDT. Reverse Grid is another choice, but it measures the result in the base coin and serves a different goal.
Identify the two assets in the pair
| Pair example | Base asset | Quote asset |
|---|---|---|
| BTC/USDT | BTC | USDT |
| ETH/USDT | ETH | USDT |
The bot setup must support the asset you hold. Funds locked in another bot, order or account may not appear as available investment.
Create a Spot Grid with existing coins
- Open Bot, Create, Spot and Spot Grid.
- Select the pair containing your coin.
- Choose Customize or manual parameters.
- Set the range and grid count.
- Under investment mode, choose Both.
- Enter the eligible base coin, or base coin plus quote asset.
- Review the initial allocation and confirm.
When Reverse Grid is different
Spot Grid focuses on increasing the quote asset through range cycles. Reverse Grid expresses the result in the base coin and is designed around selling higher and buying back lower within a range. It is not automatically better because you already own the coin.
Expect an initial allocation
A grid needs both buy and sell capacity. The creation flow may rebalance part of the supplied capital to establish base and quote holdings. Check the preview so the resulting exposure is not a surprise.
Before you confirm
Verify the pair, live minimum, available balance, range, number of grids, profit per grid after fees, downside exposure and settlement choice. A bot does not remove the market risk of the coin you supply.

Frequently asked questions
Can I create a Pionex bot with coins I already own?
Yes. Pionex’s current Spot Grid guide says Investment: Both can use the base coin alone or both assets in the selected pair, subject to the live minimum and pair rules.
How do I use existing BTC in a BTC/USDT Spot Grid?
Choose BTC/USDT Spot Grid, open manual or advanced investment settings, select Investment: Both, enter the eligible BTC or BTC plus USDT amount, and review the preview.
What is the difference between Spot Grid and Reverse Grid?
Spot Grid measures results in the quote asset such as USDT. Reverse Grid measures results in the base asset such as BTC and aims to increase that coin within its range.
Does creating the bot sell some of my coin?
It may rebalance the supplied assets to establish the initial grid. Review the estimated base and quote allocation before confirming.
Can I use any coin in a bot?
No. The exact pair and bot must be available in the current Pionex interface, and the supplied amount must meet its live minimum.
Should I use Reverse Grid just because I already hold the coin?
No. Choose it only if measuring the result in the base coin and its range behavior fit your goal. Existing ownership alone is not enough.
What should I check before creating the bot?
Check the pair, base and quote assets, range, grids, investment mode, initial rebalancing, fees, lower-boundary risk, settlement choice and live minimum.
Automation does not guarantee profit. The supplied coin remains exposed to price and range risk.
