Pionex Multi-Coin Rebalancing Bot keeps a basket of eligible assets near the target percentages you choose. Use it when you want a rules-based portfolio allocation, not because one date is guaranteed to be the best entry. The key decision is whether periodic or threshold rebalancing fits your plan.
How Multi-Coin rebalancing works
You select several eligible assets and assign a target weight to each. Price movement changes those weights. When the chosen condition is met, the bot trades between basket assets to move the portfolio closer to its target allocation.
| Mode | Trigger | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Periodic | A selected time interval | Predictable schedule, but it can trade after a small drift |
| Threshold | An asset weight moves beyond the configured deviation | Responds to allocation drift, but activity depends on volatility |
| Off | No automatic rebalance | Holds the selected assets without restoring weights |
When the strategy may fit
- You want long-term exposure to several assets rather than one.
- You can state the target weight and reason for every asset.
- You want a repeatable rule for trimming relative winners and adding to relative laggards.
- You accept that every rebalance can create trades and costs.
When it may not fit
It may not fit if you expect one asset to dominate and do not want it trimmed, if the selected assets are highly correlated, or if you would be uncomfortable buying more of an asset that keeps falling. Diversification does not remove market risk.
How to choose a starting time
No date is universally best. Review current valuations, volatility, major events and your holding horizon. If entry timing is uncertain, reduce position size or stage separate allocations rather than treating the bot as proof that prices are low.
A creation checklist
- Confirm every selected coin is eligible in the live screen.
- Write the target weight and purpose of each holding.
- Choose periodic or threshold rebalancing.
- Review the investment, expected trades and costs.
- Define a review date and an exit condition.
- Start only if you can tolerate a decline across the full basket.
Read Pionex’s Rebalancing Bot guide. For the separate timing control, see how to set a rebalancing interval or threshold.
Frequently asked questions
What is Pionex Multi-Coin Rebalancing Bot?
It holds a selected basket of eligible assets at target weights and trades between them when the chosen periodic or threshold condition calls for rebalancing.
When should I use a Multi-Coin Rebalancing Bot?
Consider it when you want a rules-based allocation across several assets and are prepared to hold the full basket. It is not a tool for predicting the best market entry.
How many coins can I add?
Pionex’s current guide describes up to 10 coins in Multi-coin mode. Confirm the current limit and eligible assets in the live creation screen.
What is periodic rebalancing?
Periodic mode restores the target weights at a selected time interval, whether or not the allocation drift is large.
What is threshold rebalancing?
Threshold mode acts when an asset’s proportion moves far enough from the target according to the configured threshold.
Does rebalancing guarantee higher profit than holding?
No. It can systematically sell part of an outperforming asset and buy an underperforming one, but fees, correlation and continued declines can make it underperform holding.
What should I choose before starting?
Choose eligible assets, target weights, a periodic or threshold rule, investment amount, review schedule and exit condition. Check the live preview before confirming.
