Use the Trigger price in Pionex Grid Bot Advanced settings to delay activation until the market reaches your chosen level. When the bot starts, it still needs an initial base-asset position for sell grids above market. Trigger price delays the allocation; it does not remove it.
What Trigger price changes
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Trigger price | When the strategy activates |
| Lower and upper limits | Where grid orders operate |
| Grid count | Order density and approximate profit per grid |
| Investment | Total capital allocated to the bot |
Why an initial purchase occurs
A Spot Grid places buys below market and sells above market. It therefore needs quote currency for the buy side and base coin for the sell side. When created with quote currency, the bot purchases the calculated base amount at activation.
Choose the right alternative
- Use Smart Trade Limit mode for one specified buy price and quantity.
- Use DCA when you want several planned entries under DCA rules.
- Use Grid when you want repeated buys and sells across a range.

Frequently asked questions
Can you delay a Pionex Grid Bot’s initial buy?
Yes. Set a Trigger price in Advanced settings so the bot waits until that market price is reached before it starts.
Does Trigger price remove the initial purchase?
No. After activation, a Spot Grid normally buys the base asset needed to place sell grids above the market.
Can a 50-grid bot buy exactly 2% at each level without a starting position?
Do not assume so. Grid orders are sized from range, grid count, minimums and asset allocation, and the bot needs base coin for sell orders.
What if you want one limit buy at 1.01?
Smart Trade Limit mode lets you set a buy price and quantity, then define take-profit and stop-loss behavior.
What if you want several staged purchases?
A DCA strategy may fit multiple planned entries better, but its safety-order and exit rules differ from a Grid Bot.
Can the trigger be above or below current price?
The live control determines allowed values. Pionex documents trigger prices as an advanced activation setting, so review the current preview.
What should you check before confirming?
Check trigger price, range, grid count, initial asset split, minimum investment, estimated profit per grid, fees, slippage and exit settings.
Triggering an entry does not guarantee a favorable execution or result.
